The buildings name was dedicated to the novelist, writer and critic, then Virginia Stephen. She studied at the King’s Ladies’ department in Kensington between 1897 to 1902.

The building is home to a selection of Arts & Humanities departments and a short walk from both Bush House and the Strand campus.

Following the King’s College London signing of 22 Kingsway lease, King’s wanted to make a huge statement in terms of physical presence at Kingsway. A building that is not only five minutes walk from the Strand and Bush House, but also situated in the mix of LSE buildings.

22 Kingsway presented an opportunity to expand on the successful Alumni frieze at the Strand campus. Kingsway building facade has extensive glazing which was utilised and featured the Alumni graphics.

We provided Atelier Works and King’s College London operational support in the form of site survey, generating elevations, application guidelines, planning approval, production and installation. The graphics were externally applied to the glazing using Contra-Vision. This perforated material offered a cost-effective design and update solution.
